Local Church Upgrades Energy Management System – Earns $30,581

local church

A local church replaced their existing energy management system with a new advanced system that allows the building to operate sufficiently on its own.  Rather than providing building schedules, the system will monitor occupancy and air quality.  This will allow the system to determine the quantity of ventilation air required.

This energy upgrade will drastically reduce energy usage along with operation costs for the church.  Other enhancements included new VFD’s, demand based ventilation, occupancy control for HVAC equipment, and optimal start/stop of air handling units.  The church received $30,581 in Utility Incentives through the Consumers Energy and DTE Energy Incentive Programs for making all of these energy upgrades to their facility.
